George Martin's screen universe will soon expand with a new Game of Thrones spin-off based on the Tales of Dunk and Egg.
Peter Claffey, the star of the upcoming Game of Thrones spin-off titled "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," shared how he developed the character of Duncan the Tall, one of the series' key figures. The actor cited Geralt of Rivia, as portrayed by Henry Cavill, and The Witcher 3 by CD Projekt RED as his references.
In an interview with Nerdist, Claffey admitted that he doesn't play games himself because it interferes with his work, but he watched his brother play The Witcher 3 and also carefully watched the first season of "The Witcher" from Netflix. According to the actor, Cavill's on-screen persona became one of his sources of inspiration, but Dunk, he says, is "a less sexy, less confident, and less charismatic Geralt [Henry Cavill]."
Viewers will soon find out what Ser Duncan the Tall will be like in Peter Claffey's performance. "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is set to premiere on January 18, 2026. The first season adapts the novella "The Hedge Knight," and HBO has already renewed the series for a second season.
