Capcom has announced plans to shut down the servers for the collectible card game TEPPEN, created in collaboration with GungHo Online Entertainment. The online mode will cease operations on March 31, 2026, but users will be able to continue playing: the developers will update the game to an offline version, allowing them to view statistics, card collections, and participate in single-player modes.

Sales of premium currency in TEPPEN were discontinued on December 22, 2025, and access to card packs and currency exchange will close on March 2, 2026.

After the servers are shut down, the game can be updated via the App Store or Google Play and switched to offline mode. The client will be available for download until April 30, and the final closure of the website and termination of support are scheduled for July 31.

Over six years, TEPPEN has brought together many characters from Capcom franchises: the game features cards from Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter, Mega Man, Ōkami, Ace Attorney, and other series from the company. The mechanics combined elements of classic CCG and dynamic real-time battles, which was supposed to make the project stand out among competitors, declaring that it was "the card game that will end all others."

Over the years, TEPPEN has surpassed 5 million downloads, as Capcom reported on the official project website. However, the game's financial performance remained relatively modest, although exact figures are not disclosed.

Interestingly, Capcom's decision to release an offline version was positively received by users. On Reddit, players note that such a move should be an example for the industry. One user wrote: "Stopped making money? Release an offline version - give people the opportunity to continue playing and use what they have already paid for." Others emphasize that the ability to maintain access to cards and statistics is rare for gacha projects, which usually turn into "memories" after the servers are shut down.
