Head of development of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Guillaume Broch, in a new interview commented on the scandal erupting around the studio due to accusations of using generative artificial intelligence.
Everything in the game is created by people. We were already working on the project when AI only appeared in 2022. It was a completely new tool that we tried, but we didn't like it — it felt wrong. Initially, we used it to create temporary placeholders in places where textures were missing, but then immediately deleted everything.
Broch not only emphasized that everything in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is made by people, but also assured that the studio does not plan to use AI tools in the future.
It's hard to say what the future will look like, but everything will be made by people.
