In a recent interview, the actress who played Sansa Stark explained why she is in no hurry to return to the "Game of Thrones" universe.
During the promotional tour for the series "Heist," actress Sophie Turner gave an exclusive interview to The Direct, where she commented on rumors regarding possible "Game of Thrones" sequels and her own participation in them. Answering a question about returning to the role of Sansa Stark, the actress admitted that such a step would be both difficult and attractive.
When asked by a journalist whether she would be interested in returning to the role, Turner initially reacted jokingly. "Show me the money first. I don't know… I think it would be difficult, but at the same time amazing," the actress noted, adding that in any case, she would want to see the script first.
The "Game of Thrones" finale caused a strong reaction at the time, not only among fans but also within the cast. However, according to Sophie Turner, unlike many of her colleagues on the show, she was satisfied with how her character's story ended in the eighth season. This is why the actress doubts whether it is worth returning to the role of Sansa Stark, so as not to spoil the finale, which she considers successful.
Meanwhile, HBO continues to develop George Martin's cinematic universe. The writer previously noted that "five or six spin-offs" of "Game of Thrones" are in development. Most of them will be prequels; however, as reported by Collider, several sequels are also planned.
The next project in the franchise will be the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight," which is scheduled to premiere on January 18 on HBO Max. The show is based on the novellas about Dunk and Egg by George Martin.
As for Turner herself, gamers should expect the actress to appear in the lead role in the upcoming Tomb Raider series from Amazon. Filming for the project will begin on January 19, 2026.
