New DLC for The Witcher 3 Almost Inevitable - Analyst is 100% Sure
Rumors about a new expansion for The Witcher 3 persist. This time, Mateusz Chrzanowski, an analyst at Noble Securities, made a strong statement. He claims to be 100% sure that new major content from CD Projekt Red will be released in 2026. According to him, this is not an assumption, but a conclusion based on specific statements from the company.
This refers to CD Projekt Red's internal profit-linked motivation program. To reach the first threshold - 2 billion PLN of total profit for the period from 2023 to 2026 - the company needs about 700 million PLN, and time is running out. According to the analyst, updates and ports to new platforms alone will not be enough.
The Witcher 3 appears most often in these calculations. Chrzanowski believes that in 90% of cases, it is a full-fledged expansion. Cyberpunk 2077 continues to sell steadily and has already exceeded 35 million copies, but it is unlikely to cover the missing amount on its own. The Witcher 4 will not be released until 2027 and cannot affect current financial goals.
There is also an additional argument. At the end of last year, CD Projekt Red mentioned the release of new content to achieve the first level of the motivation program during a conversation with investors. The company did not disclose details, but this was enough to intensify the rumors.
Fool's Theory, which includes veterans of The Witcher series, is most often mentioned as a possible developer. The team released The Thaumaturge and is now working on a remake of the first part. The active growth of the studio allows for its participation in a project related to The Witcher 3.
The company remains silent, but the combination of financial data, official statements, and independent assessments makes the appearance of new content for The Witcher 3 less and less doubtful.
