Merch Advertising and Full Leon Gameplay. Capcom Held a Resident Evil Showcase Dedicated to Resident Evil Requiem
On January 16, Capcom held a Resident Evil Showcase, during which the head of development for Resident Evil Requiem, Koshi Nakanishi, spoke in detail about the inclusion of Leon Kennedy as the second full-fledged playable character in the game. Nakanishi noted that the team strived to maintain the atmosphere of horror even in the sections with Leon, but at the same time understood that fans do not want to see their favorite hero too scared and timid.
The story of Requiem unfolds after the events of Resident Evil 6 and combines the storylines of Grace and Leon.
New details were revealed about the mysterious infection: infected zombies retain some human traits and behavior. One example is the caretaker who continues to "clean" the premises, but already using blood instead of ordinary means.
Leon's main melee weapon is a tomahawk. Otherwise, the combat system is similar to RE4 Remake: aiming at limbs and roundhouse kicks. Leon will also be able to use a chainsaw.
Grace's sections are closer to classic horror. She uses a revolver called Requiem with limited ammunition, but with incredible stopping power - it literally tears zombies apart. Mechanics were also shown using special blood of the infected to create biological weapons.
It wasn't without collaborations. Leon drives around in a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. The car appears in cutscenes, but it seems to have no gameplay functionality.
Another collaboration is with Hamilton watches. Leon and Grace wear unique limited edition models (2000 of each), which will go on sale before the game's release. Apparently, the prices for them will be more frightening than Requiem itself.
