In an interview with GamesRadar, ARC Raiders lead designer Virgil Watkins said that the team is generally "happy" with the current endgame cycle, which revolves around battles with powerful bosses — Queens and Matriarchs. However, the developers understand that constantly destroying the same giant machines for resources and crafting increasingly effective weapons can become boring over time, especially for the hardcore audience living in the endgame.
According to Watkins, instead of adding new "giant spider-like" robots, Embark may focus on using existing bosses in new formats — scenarios, events, or conditions. The developers are considering ways to escalate the PvE experience and increase the tension for players in the later stages of progression.
The changes may affect not only bosses. Some drones and other Arcs at high threat levels are no longer a serious threat to advanced players. At the same time, some of the smaller enemies, according to the authors' idea, should remain more of an annoying factor.
As for the colossal Arc bosses that can be seen in the background of the world, Embark is not yet making any specific promises. The reason is technical limitations and server load.
