The lead developer of the global mod Fallout: London for Fallout 4 spoke with Esports.net. Dean Carter was asked if there were any mechanics or tools from his project that he would like to see from Bethesda in a potential Fallout 5.
Before answering the question, the creator shared his concerns:
I really worry that they will continue to use the Creation Engine. Don't get me wrong, it has many advantages. I'm not one to sit and lie that it's a "terrible engine." Yes, it could be better, but it's not a "bad engine," although its age has already begun to show. It needs some rework.
When the interviewer decided to clarify what Carter thought a change of engine would bring, he highlighted the problem with loading screens and optimization:
We didn't want loading screens [in our project]. It would really ruin the atmosphere, and we paid the price for it because the engine wasn't suitable for what we wanted to achieve. If [Bethesda] updates it, then here's what they need to do: get rid of loading screens and ensure better optimization
