This time, Battlestate Games will send players into the distant future.
Battlestate Games, known for Escape from Tarkov, has published the first teaser for its new project — COR3. The one-and-a-half-minute video, posted on YouTube, does not reveal details of the story or gameplay, but it showcases a grim post-apocalyptic future in a science-fiction setting.
The teaser begins with a first-person view, indicating that the project belongs to the FPS genre, after which the action shifts into open space. The viewer is shown destroyed orbital stations and clouds of space debris. The video ends with the body of an astronaut in a spacesuit giving the middle finger.
According to the description on the official website, the events of COR3 unfold in 2251 — two centuries after humanity managed to survive a global crisis and avoid total mutual destruction. A key role in this was played by the organization Core, operating in the shadows and uniting the governments of the world to preserve civilization.
The title of the video, PRJRPNT_BLUEMARS_FO, contains a direct mention of Mars, which is why some people have already dubbed the project "Escape from Mars." However, the planet shown in the teaser does not look much like either Mars or Earth in their familiar forms. Perhaps this is the result of large-scale cataclysms and conflicts that radically changed the face of the world.
Neither the genre, nor the platforms, nor the format of the game have been officially confirmed yet. There is a high probability that COR3 will turn out to be a science-fiction first-person shooter; however, the developers are not specifying whether the project will build on the ideas of Escape from Tarkov or become a fundamentally different game. Battlestate Games has promised to share news as it becomes available, but when to expect the next batch of information and the first gameplay demonstration remains unknown.
