The game was released at the end of January on PC and PS5.
The Game Bakers reported the first commercial successes of its new project, Cairn. According to the developers, the realistic mountaineering and survival simulator sold more than 200,000 copies in just a few days after release.
The studio noted that such a rapid result came as a pleasant surprise to them. In a joking message, the developers wondered whether this means a "revival of the tourist boom on Mount Kami," emphasizing that hundreds of thousands of players joined the virtual ascent in a short time. Such a start points to strong interest in the project already at an early stage of its life cycle.
At the center of Cairn's story is the professional climber Aava, who is trying to become the first in history to conquer the fictional Mount Kami, known for its harsh and unforgiving conditions. The gameplay is built around a physically accurate climbing system: the player must manually control the heroine's arms and legs, carefully planning every movement.
