An attempt to send money to Western services results in loss of funds.
Recently, analysts at Digital Risk Protection F6 drew attention to a digital goods marketplace called Zadrotik.
Experts claim that a "new scheme" is being used against gamers and users of digital services:
Attackers have created a fake marketplace on the domain zadrotik[.]com. There, you can supposedly purchase game keys, items and currency for CS2, Standoff 2, Fortnite, Genshin Impact, etc., gift cards for gaming platforms, as well as subscriptions to ChatGPT, Spotify and iTunes.
According to F6, the "Zadrotik" marketplace is advertised through various services, such as TikTok, Telegram or YouTube. Victims are encouraged to quickly purchase the product at a large discount "while supplies last" and are offered a promotional code for their first purchase with a limited activation time.
After payment, the user will lose money and will not receive the promised product. At the same time, the payment instrument data will be compromised.
If the victim tries to contact support, an additional scheme will be launched:
Having received a request to the "support service", the attackers try to convince that there was a "payment error". When allegedly returning funds, scammers can re-debit the "purchase" amount.
