South Korean studio Pearl Abyss has released the third and final overview video for Crimson Desert. While the previous videos focused on the story and combat system, this time the developers focused on non-combat activities and the life of the game world.
The center of the player's journey will be the Greymane camp. After the faction lost their homeland of Paelune due to the Black Bear attack, the survivors settled in the lands of Hernand, making it their new base. At the beginning of the game, the camp looks modest — the Greymane squad is in decline — but over time it can be developed. Players will be able to invest funds and resources earned in their travels to improve infrastructure, gradually turning the camp into a full-fledged stronghold.
The camp serves as a survival center. Here you can cook food to maintain health, purchase supplies, engage in farming and animal husbandry to provide yourself with resources if the wild nature of Paivel cannot cope with this task. Cooking plays an important role in the game: hearty dishes cooked over a campfire provide significant bonuses to health, spirit, and stamina.
As the camp develops, allies scattered around the world will join Greymane — some players will be able to recruit themselves, others will come on their own initiative. These are not static characters: they can be assigned roles and sent on missions throughout the continent. Companions are able to extract wood and ore, as well as participate in combat operations in remote and besieged regions, contributing to the overall military effort even when the main character is far away.
The cities and villages of Paivel are also full of life. In addition to the usual blacksmiths and tailors, players will be able to take on various assignments from local residents — from delivering goods and searching for missing people to protecting against bandits.
In addition, Crimson Desert features an advanced crime system. Harm caused to civilians will lead to a hostile reaction from townspeople and guards. Those who choose the path of a criminal may face the need to fight their way out of the city, pay large fines, or even serve time in prison.
