Blizzard held the Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight broadcast, during which it presented large-scale updates for the entire Diablo series. The main theme of the announcements was the Warlock — a new class that will appear in several games of the franchise at once.
A major update, Reign of the Warlock, has been released for Diablo II: Resurrected. It adds the first new playable character in the last 25 years — the Warlock. The hero specializes in binding and sacrificing demons both in the campaign and in the endgame.
The Warlock will be the second new class in the Lord of Hatred expansion for Diablo IV, which coincides with previously leaked illustrations. In the game, he is presented at the peak of his power and turns the energy of hell against itself. The developers will conduct a detailed analysis of the class on March 5.
The expansion will send players to a new location, Skovos, where they promise "more variety of monsters than ever before."
Among the key innovations:
- War Plans — a new endgame system that allows you to create "playlists" of activities for rewards
- unique development trees for each endgame mode
- Echoing Hatred mode with endless waves of enemies and rare loot
- large-scale rework of skill trees with advanced customization (for example, the Sorceress's Hydra will be able to attack faster, exist longer, or change the element from fire to ice)
- new item system with a Talisman and Charms, giving set bonuses
- return of the Horadric Cube for combining materials and creating equipment for your play style
