Someone is praising the game very diligently.
The new life simulator Starsand Island has received many positive reviews. However, some players have questioned their authenticity: there is an opinion that this is a "boost" of the rating.
Soon the developers themselves spoke out — it turned out that they also do not understand who came up with the idea to leave these reviews:
Recently, we have noticed a large number of overly positive "rave" comments about our game appearing on various social platforms. At first, we thought this meant that our game was starting to be recognized and appreciated. However, we soon noticed something strange on Steam: some reviews were posted with very little playtime and appeared almost simultaneously (it seemed like they were generated by AI).
The creators of Starsand Island do not understand who is doing this and for what purpose:
Is this some form of "over-praising" as an attack? We have no concrete evidence, but it seems that someone is doing this intentionally. What makes it even stranger is that this is not a cheap trick, because you need to buy the game to write a review. (Later we discovered that some of these accounts filed a refund immediately after posting reviews.)
The developers of Starsand Island are asking those behind this to stop posting such reviews — they want to focus on improving the game using feedback from real gamers.
