According to recent reports, Sony plans to limit the release of its single-player projects on PC and leave new games only on consoles. The reaction of players was mixed: some understand the company's strategy, others believe that abandoning the PC will be a step backwards.
An interesting theory was voiced by journalist Jez Corden from Windows Central. Earlier, he talked about the concept of a new generation of Xbox, which, according to rumors, will become something like a PC in a console case.
Corden suggested that Steam may appear on the new Xbox. Then users will be able to run games from the Valve store on the console, including PlayStation projects that were previously released on PC.
According to the journalist, this is why Sony is changing its strategy. If Xbox becomes a more open platform with access to Steam, PlayStation games released on PC will actually be able to run on the Microsoft console.
Sony was wise to do this before Steam appeared on Xbox. The company wants to protect its PlayStation user base and sees a chance to further reduce Xbox's market share. In my opinion, the best way to do this is to release games only on this console.
