Players will be able to hear some things.
Recently, audio director Sergey Eybog told the "Make a Sound!" project about Owlcat Games' approach to designing the sound environment in the open space of The Expanse: Osiris Reborn.
He explained that the studio is not chasing realism:
First of all, artistry and feedback are important to us — the transmission of information and sound in the game. We are not making an astronaut simulator, but a cover shooter, so it is important to maintain a balance between the plausibility of the soundscape in a vacuum and the comfort of the player.
Sergey specified that some events may "sound" using systems in the hero's spacesuit, such as a warning about danger or a navigation prompt:
Something can cause electromagnetic interference to our means of communication, and we are also able to perceive vibrations with our body, through surfaces. We are betting on the artistic implementation of these assumptions.
