During his photo shoot, cosplayer Elena Zadneprovskaya appeared as one of the Abyss Watchers.
The Abyss Watchers are warriors who vowed to destroy the manifestations of the Abyss and swore allegiance to the soul of the Wolf's Blood. They became Lords of Cinder, but over time the power of this soul waned.
In the game, these fighters are only a shadow of their former incarnations. The Watchers, like other inhabitants of the Farron Keep, succumbed to corruption. It is unknown why they took the throne of the Lords of Cinder.
Perhaps they decided to take such an action in order to fulfill their duty, prolong the Age of Fire, and prevent the Abyss from spreading.
