Coffee Stain has announced the closure of its mobile division, Coffee Stain Malmö, in Sweden. This was announced by Daniel Persson, VP of Mobile, on LinkedIn.
The studio was founded in 2021 and was responsible for mobile development and publishing. According to the official website, it employed about 17 people.
The Coffee Stain Malmö team was involved in porting Goat Simulator to smartphones in 2023, and also worked on the port of Songs of Conquest — the spiritual successor to "Heroes of Might and Magic", available on iOS and Android since March 2025.
Persson noted that building the studio from scratch was one of the most significant stages of his career. He thanked the team and emphasized the high level of specialists, urging other companies to pay attention to them.
The reasons for the closure of the division are not disclosed. It is also unclear whether Coffee Stain Publishing will continue to release mobile versions of its projects.
