According to Digital Foundry, the Nintendo Switch 2 version surpasses the Xbox Series S port in several parameters. Both versions are inferior to the PS5 in terms of graphics quality, but it is Nintendo's hybrid console that better handles the output of a clean and detailed image.
This is further confirmation that Switch 2 has become a full-fledged platform for AAA games. Developers are increasingly optimizing projects for this device already at the production stage.
The main advantage of Switch 2 is the picture quality and level of detail. Xbox Series S works with an internal resolution of about 720p, which makes jagged edges noticeable. The Nintendo console delivers a clearer and cleaner image.
Analysts also note the difference in lighting and textures. On Xbox, shadows look noisy and blurry, while the Switch 2 version offers a more elaborate environment and high-quality assets.
The only plus of the Xbox Series S is performance. The game runs stably at 60 FPS. On Switch 2, the frame rate fluctuates from 30 to 60 FPS.
Experts believe that this can be fixed with a patch with a fixed 30 FPS for stable operation.
