The economic board game Chicago 1875: City of the Big Shoulders will be released in Russia

Pre-orders for the Russian version of the board game Chicago 1875: City of the Big Shoulders will open this summer, in which users will trade stocks, hire employees, produce and sell goods, and rebuild the city.

Publisher 4ies (4Games) has decided to localize the economic board game Chicago 1875: City of the Big Shoulders, designed for 1–4 players.

In this project, players take on the roles of entrepreneurs and investors striving to turn Chicago into a city worthy of entering the world stage. They will create companies, trade stocks, hire employees, equip their factories, produce and sell goods.

Despite its great strategic depth and engaging gameplay, Chicago 1875: City of the Big Shoulders takes less time than most heavy economic games. Users play only five rounds (which are decades). Each game takes approximately 120–180 minutes.

Each decade consists of five unique phases: the stock phase, where players buy and sell stocks; the construction phase, where players rebuild Chicago; the action phase, where companies send their partners to make deals across the city; the operational phase, where companies buy resources, produce goods, and ship them; and the cleanup phase, where the board is prepared for the next decade.

At the end of the fifth decade, the game concludes. Gamers exchange stocks purchased during the game for cash, receive rewards for completed public objectives, and count their money to determine who will be the greatest Chicagoan.

In Russia, pre-orders for Chicago 1875: City of the Big Shoulders are expected to open in the summer of 2026. The board game trailer can be viewed on the YouTube channel of Quined Games publisher.
