Sony to remove over a thousand "junk" games from PlayStation Store - publisher bids farewell to players
The PS Store features many games of questionable quality, but some of them will soon be removed.
It recently became known that Sony's campaign to clean up the PlayStation Store continues. The company is preparing to remove over a thousand different projects associated with one of the largest publishers on this console.
Webnetic, a company whose game catalog includes about 1200 projects, is under threat. It recently published an appeal to players on social media, warning that its games would soon be removed from the PlayStation Store:
Our journey on PlayStation is coming to an end, we want to thank everyone who played our games, supported our releases, and was with us on this journey. These are the last days of our games on PlayStation, so if you've been wanting to try them – now is the time to do it before they disappear. But this is not the end for us [...]
Webnetic confirmed that it will continue to work on other platforms – Xbox and Nintendo consoles, as well as PC on Steam. The publisher has "many interesting projects planned – including news on Panic House: Awakening."
This round of clearing space in the PlayStation Store is one of many. In recent years, Sony has actively begun to combat specific content that players have complained about for years. Such "junk" games clutter the store and deter some users.
