Madden NFL 27 to Get Special Graphics Modes for PS5 Pro and Nintendo Switch 2
On Sony's console, the game will even accelerate to 100 fps.
EA has revealed new details about Madden NFL 27. One of the key innovations will be additional graphics settings for Sony PlayStation 5 Pro and Nintendo Switch 2, allowing players to choose between image quality and performance.
According to the official developer blog, PS5 Pro owners will have access to two new modes — Visual Pro and Performance Pro. In the latter, the game will be able to run at up to 100 frames per second. Similar settings will also appear on Nintendo Switch 2. Although the hybrid console is less powerful than the PS5 Pro, in Performance Pro mode, users can expect performance of up to 60 frames per second. Switching between modes will be available through the settings menu.
Developers note that the main goal of Madden NFL 27 was to increase the realism of what happens on the field. In addition to graphical improvements, the game will feature an improved dynamic weather system. Now, weather conditions can change right during the match: snowfall and rain will develop naturally, and the intensity of precipitation can change even between quarters.
Special attention is paid to the visual display of game consequences. For the first time in the series, snow will be able to accumulate on athletes' uniforms. Players will also look more realistic thanks to new effects of dirt, moisture, and equipment wear. Wet areas of the uniform will become darker, and traces of heavy struggle on the field will be more noticeable as the match progresses.
Madden NFL 27 will be released on August 13.
