Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 Discovered in PS Store Database
It seems that rumors about the return of classic Call of Duty titles are getting more and more confirmation.
Not long ago, the Korean rating committee issued age ratings for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which led to speculation about possible remasters or digital re-releases of the iconic shooters.
Now new evidence has emerged. Both games have been spotted in the PlayStation Store database, and separate identifiers have already been created for them — CUSA57547 for Black Ops and CUSA57548 for Black Ops 2. Versions for several regions, including the USA, Europe, and Japan, have also appeared in the store.
The fact that the projects appeared in the PlayStation Network infrastructure indicates that this is not just about adding games to the catalog via cloud streaming. Apparently, the titles are being prepared for a full-fledged release on modern platforms through the Sony digital store.
It is not yet clear whether the new versions will include multiplayer. This question remains the main one for fans of the series. If Activision decides to bring back not only the story campaigns but also the online component, it will be great news for fans who consider Black Ops and especially Black Ops 2 among the best releases in the franchise's history.
