Gothic Action RPG Crimson Moon, Featuring Brutal Angels and Dead Gods, Announces Release Window

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Studio ProbablyMonsters announced that the gothic action RPG Crimson Moon will be released in September on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

Crimson Moon is set in the fallen city of Gildenhark, which players must liberate from demonic forces. The main character is a Nephilim — a hybrid of human and angel, created to protect humanity from an invasion from hell. The character will have supernatural abilities, various weapons, and powerful melee techniques at their disposal.

The developers describe the project as a gothic action RPG with dynamic, Souls-like inspired combat. During the playthrough, players will have to destroy hordes of demons, undead, vampires, and other monstrous creatures, with the culmination of each run being battles against powerful bosses — the so-called Dead Gods.

One of the key features of the game will be its repeatable run structure. Each successful raid will unlock new quests, modifiers, and character development opportunities. Between expeditions, players can return to the Church headquarters, where permanent upgrades, character interactions, and planning of subsequent missions via a special War Table are available.

Crimson Moon can be played solo or in two-player co-op. In co-op mode, users can share health pools, revive allies, and unlock additional synergies between character abilities. At the same time, a dynamic difficulty system will adapt enemy composition and challenges to the chosen game format.

Another important mechanic will be angelic transformation. As the hero develops, players will be able to unlock new Nephilim powers, temporarily gaining access to devastating divine attacks and unique abilities.
