During the God of War Laufey demonstration, the developers did not specify an exact release date for the game. A well-known insider decided to fill this information void.
NateTheHate shared what he “heard” on social media. The last time he received information from his sources was that God of War Laufey is planned for release in the first half of 2027. However, he made a caveat: plans might have already been adjusted.
Overall, this “inside information” aligns with the theory of user darthwindy_42: “You all know that Sony doesn't engage in such overly aggressive marketing for their games if their release is still far off, so this is definitely a Q1 2027 release.”
Sony itself previously reported that another project is scheduled for release in 2027 – the horror game Until Dawn 2 will be released on PlayStation 5.
In God of War Laufey, players will be offered to play not as Kratos, but as his wife. Santa Monica Studio will show the adventures of the warrior Laufey (Faye) after her death.
Earlier, users noticed a peculiarity in the God of War Laufey trailer. It seems that this installment of the franchise has abandoned the use of markers, like those in God of War (2018) and GoW: Ragnarok, which guided players through locations – and one fan has a logical explanation from the perspective of game lore (and there is also an opinion that these “markers” are simply absent because the developers were showing an early version of the game).
