MP1st journalists received information from a source about a new CD Projekt RED project. It is claimed that the company is working on a free-to-play multiplayer game based on The Witcher franchise. Target platforms include PC and mobile devices; nothing is known about console versions.
From a gameplay perspective, this The Witcher is a cooperative action RPG. Events are supposedly set in 1230, i.e., during the time when Geralt was still a young witcher. Players will be able to customize their witcher (male or female) and complete contracts to destroy monsters in various locations familiar to franchise fans – "dark forests, bustling villages, and haunted ruins."
The combat system will allow players to combine abilities from different witcher schools, and it is reported that during battles, one will need to block attacks, dodge, and parry.
MP1st suggested that the project might be developed by Scopely studio.
Journalists did not report when CD Projekt RED might announce the new "Witcher" game.
Earlier, CDPR announced that the release of the Songs of the Past (or "Ballads of the Past") expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned for 2027.
