With the release of the first Gothic remake, players remembered (or learned about) the lockpicking mechanic. In some cases, it is necessary to solve a complex problem. Since lockpicks in the game break, when trying different solutions, you have to reload the save.

While some players solve the problem simply – by downloading mods for Gothic 1 Remake to simplify lockpicking – a user under the nickname 1h8s used a different approach: he developed an entire website, "UnlockMyLoot. Lock Solver for Gothic 1 Remake".

The developer explained that UnlockMyLoot iterates through all lock states and provides the shortest sequence of moves in which no pin ever hits a wall. The player needs to follow the steps: "lockpick is intact, loot is yours".

In the interface on the website, the player needs to specify the number of tiles, mark the pin positions, and the connections between the tiles (manually in the matrix or via "Help" in the third step). After that, you need to click "unlock" and the system will provide numbered steps with a preview of the positions after each move.

The UnlockMyLoot website is available at the following link – there is an English and Russian version. According to the statistics on the main page, this tool has helped unlock more than 52 thousand locks. The website also has a lock catalog available.
