According to the journalist, the cuts could affect at least 50% of all Bungie staff, including both full-time employees and contractors. The reasons cited are the completion of active development for Destiny 2 and the difficult situation surrounding the Marathon shooter.

Earlier, Sony recorded an impairment of Bungie's assets totaling approximately $800 million, acknowledging that the studio's current value was significantly lower than expected. Recall that in 2022, Sony acquired Bungie for $3.6 billion.
