Anbernic announced the RG 55G1 - a portable retro console in a horizontal format

In the foreseeable future, players will be able to purchase the new Anbernic RG 55G1 portable retro console, which slightly resembles the RG 476H and Nintendo Switch Lite in design.

Anbernic announced a new portable retro console called the RG 551 and published the first trailer for this horizontal device. Visually, it slightly resembles the Nintendo Switch Lite and Anbernic RG 476H.

The new product has Hall effect joysticks and double-shot buttons, so the inscriptions on them will not wear off. The manufacturer also claims the presence of "2.5D" glass. This term means that the edges of the glass smoothly transition into the rounded plastic casing on the sides.

The USB-C port at the bottom is off-center, next to it are an SD card slot and a headphone jack. The triggers on the back are also Hall effect. Currently, neither the price nor the release date has been announced, but three colors will be available: indigo, retro gray, and black.

Unfortunately, it is not yet known what characteristics the Anbernic RG 551 has and when pre-orders will open.
