French independent studio Douze Dixièmes, known for the metroidvania MIO: Memories in Orbit, is ceasing operations just five months after the release of its latest project. This was reported by Le Figaro, citing journalist Gauthier Andres.

MIO: Memories in Orbit was released in January 2026 and was warmly received by critics, but commercial results were significantly below expectations. After the release, publisher Focus Entertainment terminated its cooperation with the developers, which forced the small team to look for further development paths.

It is reported that the founders of Douze Dixièmes bought out the studio's stake from Focus Entertainment. This allowed them to independently decide to close the company and lay off employees on their own terms, rather than as part of a procedure by the owner.

Douze Dixièmes was founded in 2017. The studio's first project was the adventure game Shady Part of Me, released in 2020. Already in 2021, the team was acquired by Focus Entertainment, which then stated its desire to support the French gaming industry and strengthen its portfolio of internal studios.

According to the latest available data, about ten people worked at Douze Dixièmes. The closure of the studio became another example of the difficulties faced by independent developers even after a critically successful release.
