Studio TRIGGER officially confirmed the development of a new project by director Hiroyuki Imaishi and screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima during a panel at Anime Expo 2026. This will be the fourth collaboration for the famous creative duo after "Gurren Lagann", Kill la Kill, and "Promare". The team also welcomed back their long-time producer, Hiromi Wakabayashi.
The creators have not yet revealed any details about the project's format, its title, or release dates. During the panel, the studio only showed a short video with English subtitles, in which Imaishi and Nakashima confirmed that production is in its very early stages and asked fans to be patient.
In addition to the secret announcement, Studio TRIGGER also reminded about its upcoming releases. This autumn, the anime "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2" will premiere on Netflix, and in autumn 2027, the second season of "Delicious in Dungeon" will be released.
