More gamers are playing the first Black Ops ports on PlayStation than Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on all platforms - insider
Sony console owners have been able to play early installments of the Black Ops series.
Activision recently released Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles. The shooters are sold for $40 without additional content.
According to incoming data, there is increased interest in the first installments of the Black Ops series. CharlieIntel, a well-known insider in the CoD community, shared what he heard – allegedly, these ports are now much more popular than the latest installment of the franchise:
Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports on PlayStation have a larger online player count than Black Ops 7 on all platforms combined, sources report.
CharlieIntel did not provide specific online player numbers for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 7.
From open Steam data, it is known that the peak online player count for the “big” Call of Duty (which includes not only Black Ops 7 but also Warzone) reached 36 thousand players this weekend. Activision previously announced the separation of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 from this launcher.
A new installment of the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 4, is currently in development. The game is expected to be released in late October of this year.
