NVIDIA has announced a technical partnership with The Coalition studio, under which the upcoming shooter Gears of War: E-Day will receive support for modern RTX technologies on PC.

Owners of GeForce RTX graphics cards will be able to take advantage of DLSS Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, NVIDIA Reflex, and ray tracing. Ray Tracing will be applied to shadows, Lumen global illumination, and Ambient Occlusion, which should significantly improve image quality.

NVIDIA has not yet disclosed performance data for the game using these technologies. However, we won't have to wait long for the first independent tests: early access to the multiplayer open beta starts on August 6. Users who pre-ordered Gears of War: E-Day, as well as PC Game Pass subscribers, will be able to participate.

The developers at The Coalition also continue to share technical details of the project. During Unreal Fest 2026, the studio's technical director, Kate Rayner, said that the game was essentially rebuilt from scratch to make the most efficient use of Unreal Engine 5's capabilities.

One of the key technologies was MegaLights, introduced in Unreal Engine 5.7. It allows hundreds of light sources with fully dynamic shadows to be placed in scenes. According to Rayner, MegaLights played an important role in achieving a high level of graphics on current-generation consoles and PCs.
