Kenji Kamiyama Hid the First Clues to "The Ninth Jedi" Series Back in 2021
Before the premiere of "Star Wars: Visions. The Ninth Jedi," the director advised rewatching the original short film more carefully.
The original short film "The Ninth Jedi" from the first season of the "Star Wars: Visions" anthology contains clues to the events of the upcoming series "Star Wars: Visions. The Ninth Jedi." Director Kenji Kamiyama revealed this in an interview with Crunchyroll, advising fans to rewatch the story before the sequel's release.
At the beginning of her journey, Lah Kara is neither a Jedi nor a Padawan. The heroine poorly understands the nature of her own abilities and her connection to the Force. Nevertheless, during a battle, one of the Jedi hunters pursuing her notices the girl's extraordinary skill.
According to Kamiyama, this scene refers to the 15 years Kara spent with her father, Lah Zhima, before the short film began:
"Behind the abilities Kara demonstrates lies a whole life. Before watching the series, I advise you to pay attention to this moment and imagine what Lah Kara and Lah Zhima were doing before her journey began. This will help you enjoy the sequel more."
The director added that some elements of the future story were already laid out in the original anime. Kamiyama had already conceived the biographies of the main characters, including Marquis Juro, Ethan, Homen, Gramps, and droid 99-99. Thanks to this, he was able to continue the plot immediately after receiving approval from Lucasfilm.
The standalone series about Lah Kara's further journey will premiere on August 5, 2026, on Disney+.
