Xbox Unveils Gamescom 2026 Program: Over 25 Games, First Public Demos of Gears of War: E-Day and Modern Warfare 4

In addition to Xbox Game Studios projects, visitors will be able to check out a number of anticipated games from third-party studios.

Microsoft has officially unveiled the Xbox program for Gamescom 2026, which will take place from August 26 to 30 at the Koelnmesse exhibition center in Cologne, Germany. The company will bring its largest booth in years to the event, featuring 25 game projects and 140 gaming stations where visitors can be among the first to try out both Xbox exclusives and major titles from third-party publishers.

One of the main premieres will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. At the Xbox booth, players will be invited to test the “6v6” multiplayer mode on Xbox Series X. This will be the first opportunity to play the final version of the project after the beta testing concludes.

Equally notable will be the demonstration of Gears of War: E-Day. For the first time in history, the series will receive a public gameplay demonstration of the story campaign. Visitors will be able to witness the beginning of the war with the Locust and get acquainted with the early history of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago before the game's release, which is scheduled for October 6, 2026.

Another debut will be Minecraft Dungeons II. Visitors will be able to try out the cooperative action game for the first time, in which developers promise more challenging enemies and an expanded loot system.

For racing simulator fans, a new demonstration of Forza Horizon 6 has been prepared. Players will be able to test the Drift Attack mode, and also see some of the future partnership collaborations that will appear in the game in the coming months.

Playground Games will also host the first public theatrical demonstration of Fable with real-time gameplay, focusing on the combat system and the protagonist's journey.

In addition, the booth will feature new materials and demonstrations of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, including the first public introduction to the National Championship Air Races mode.
