Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon have become the first actors in history to star in all four films with the largest opening box office gross in global cinema. This unique achievement was brought to them by the release of "Spider-Man: A New Day," which debuted with $927 million in its first days of release.
First place in the global ranking of opening gross is held by "Avengers: Endgame" with $1.22 billion. This is followed by "Spider-Man: A New Day" ($927 million), "Avengers: Infinity War" ($640.5 million), and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" ($600.5 million).
This same quartet of films also holds the lead for opening weekend gross in North America: "Endgame" earned $357.1 million, "A New Day" — $355 million, "No Way Home" — $260.1 million, and "Infinity War" — $257.7 million. Thus, Holland and Batalon's achievement extends to both global and American box office, although the figures for "A New Day" may still change slightly after the final numbers are tallied.
There are no other actors in the industry who have appeared in all four record-breaking films. For example, Zendaya starred in both "Spider-Man" films but was absent from "Infinity War" and "Endgame," while Benedict Cumberbatch appeared in two Avengers films and "No Way Home," but did not return for "A New Day."
"Spider-Man: A New Day" has already set several box office records. The film's global box office for its opening weekend reached an estimated $927 million, and in North America, the film was just $2.1 million short of the "Avengers: Endgame" record.
