Chris Evans revealed how he became Luke Cage on the set of "Avengers: Doctor Doom"

The Russo brothers are once again determined to push Steve Rogers to his limits.

Chris Evans spoke about Steve Rogers' return in "Avengers: Doctor Doom" during a fan Q&A at Fan Expo Boston. According to the actor, the Russo brothers have once again prepared tough challenges for his character:

"The Russo brothers love to beat up Steve Rogers. More than anything, they just love to beat the crap out of him. In their opinion, what defines a hero is how many punches he can take and still get up."

"In the script, my character was called Luke Cage in case of leaks. In the shooting schedules, I was also listed under that name. Even on set, they would say, 'Luke Cage is coming out.' Everything was kept strictly confidential."

Evans denied his involvement in the film for several months, although major Hollywood publications had reported his return in advance. Marvel Studios officially confirmed Steve Rogers' appearance only in the first teaser for "Avengers: Doctor Doom." The film is set to premiere on December 18, 2026.
