Battlefield 6's Largest Map to Get Even Bigger, "Top Gun" Style Mode to Appear - Update 1.4.2.0 Details Revealed
Not only will a new map be introduced, but an update for the previously released Tsuru Reef is also prepared.
Battlefield 6 developers are preparing for the release of the next content update. Battlefield Studios has pre-published patch notes 1.4.2.0 with a description of changes and various new features.
The game will feature a new map, Wake Island, which should be familiar to fans of previous installments of the franchise. For BF6, it has been adapted to the gameplay features of this installment.
In addition, developers will revisit the Tsuru Reef map and expand it – adding aircraft carriers: "Battlefield 6's largest map is getting even bigger. Tsuru Reef is expanding with the addition of playable aircraft carriers."
Aircraft carriers will appear on Tsuru Reef as part of the environment in Conquest and Escalation modes, and will be fully utilized in gameplay in Top Gun: Carrier Strike – in this mode, infantry, naval, and air units must work together to destroy an enemy aircraft carrier.
Two new aircraft models will also be added – the F/A-81F Super Spectre and the F-74A Seacat, and the Interdictor will appear, positioned as "the longest-range sniper rifle in Battlefield 6." It will be suitable for killing aircraft pilots, among other things, and can be unlocked through the battle pass.
