Distracting from Modern Warfare 4 Beta: EA Hosts Battlefield 6 Open House

The shooter became free for everyone.

On August 18, a new free trial period for Battlefield 6 began, which will last until Tuesday, August 25. It is noteworthy that it almost coincides with the first beta testing session of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which starts on August 21.

Such a coincidence can hardly be called accidental. Battlefield Studios has already held free access periods simultaneously with major Battlefield 6 updates, but Battlefield and Call of Duty have a long history of peculiar "counter-programming." Last year, Black Ops 6 received a week-long free period directly in the week of Battlefield 6's release. About a month later, Battlefield 6, in turn, became free for a week shortly after the unsuccessful launch of Black Ops 7.

This time, free access to Battlefield 6 is timed to the middle of the fourth season and a major collaboration with "Top Gun." The trial period will include both new maps of the season, as well as the Carrier Strike mode, created as part of the collaboration with the film.

At the same time, almost all content of the Top Gun event will be available for free: the second collaboration mode, Fighter Sweep, is already included in the free version of Battlefield 6 — RedSec.

Meanwhile, the first part of the Modern Warfare 4 beta starts on August 21 and ends on August 25.
