Kane Parsons Released a Free Bonus Episode of "The Backrooms"
The wait for additional content was a bit prolonged.
Kane Parsons, the director of "The Backrooms," has released a 16-minute bonus episode titled "Everything Must Go" on his YouTube channel. Previously, the short film was only available to viewers of the extended version of the horror movie in cinemas.
The episode was supposed to be released for free much earlier. Back in mid-July, Parsons promised to upload "Everything Must Go" to YouTube within a week, but the publication was delayed by exactly one month.
The events of "Everything Must Go" take place after the film's main story and do not alter its original ending. The plot follows employees of the Async research institute as they embark on a scientific expedition into the Backrooms to continue studying the nature of liminal spaces.
The global release of "The Backrooms" began on May 29, 2026, and in June, the film reached Russian cinemas. Later, an extended version with an additional short film was released. In total, the movie grossed $393.1 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing release in A24's history.
