CD Projekt RED Announces The Witcher 4 Release Window

The developers are not planning to bring the game to gamescom.

CD Projekt RED released a video ahead of gamescom, in which co-director Michał Nowakowski stated that The Witcher 4 will not be presented at the upcoming event. Nowakowski also noted that the game will not be released before 2028. CDPR cannot yet name a more precise date.

CD Projekt RED itself will still attend gamescom, where it will showcase the “Songs of the Past” expansion for the third “Witcher” game, which is set to be released in 2027.

Songs of the Past will be the third full-fledged expansion for The Witcher 3. In the new adventure, players will once again take control of Geralt of Rivia. The project is being created in collaboration with Fool’s Theory — a studio comprised of veterans who participated in the development of The Witcher 3.
