Details of the new court request are hidden to make it harder for suspects to cover their tracks.

The investigation into the Grand Theft Auto VI material leak by Take-Two Interactive has entered a new phase.

After the initial leaks, Take-Two sent subpoenas to Discord and Microsoft, demanding data that could help identify the user or users hiding behind the pseudonym Cyberleek. Specifically, the company requested materials from Microsoft's internal investigation, as well as information about users and Discord servers that might have been involved in the distribution of the stolen materials.

Later, similar requests were sent to X and YouTube. However, Take-Two's initial demands were quite broad and could affect information about thousands of users who interacted with certain Discord servers.

However, a new document filed on August 28 demonstrates a narrower approach. Take-Two stated that it has identified another Discord user, obtained additional information about the identity of a previously identified user, and gathered new information about communities that appeared in the previous request.

The company believes that these accounts and servers may be linked to the same copyright infringement and illegal distribution of confidential information.

It is particularly noteworthy that the details of the new request were hidden. Take-Two explained that disclosing the information could jeopardize the ongoing investigation and alert the alleged infringers about what information the company has already obtained.

However, the court has not yet ruled on keeping the document confidential, and the new subpoena itself has not yet been issued.
