The Blood of Dawnwalker Modders Fixed Lag, Optimization Issues, and Tripled the 30-Day Timer

The PC version of the game has a number of competitive advantages - you can customize the game to your liking.

The Blood of Dawnwalker was recently released on consoles and PC. Steam users generally praised the new game from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game director, but some had questions about the game's optimization and stutters.

The creators of The Blood of Dawnwalker use the modern Unreal Engine 5, and the modding community has long prepared a "gentleman's set" of fixes for various technical problems in UE5 games. For example, solutions such as "optimyzer_tbod_byAiorro" and "Ultimate Engine Tweaks (Anti-Stutters - More Performance - Lower Latency - Better Clarity - Lossless)" are available online.

In addition, not everyone accepted the creative decision of The Blood of Dawnwalker developers regarding the in-game timer. By default, the main character, Coen, has 30 days to save his family. Time in the game is used as a resource: it's not a "ticking clock"; it's deducted for certain actions.

This bothered some players, and modders offered a solution: on Nexus Mods, user Caites published a modification with the telling name Better Story Timer.

He proposed tripling The Blood of Dawnwalker's 30-day timer – now players will have 90 days, which will allow them to calmly explore the available in-game content.

Russian localizations for the game have also been prepared – for now, machine translation is used.
