Cosplayers Show Geralt and Triss Encountering the Temple Guard in The Witcher Universe

Photographer Elena Vesania ventured into The Witcher universe to depict the times when King Radovid V the Stern unleashed a bloody hunt for witches and more.

It was then that captured mages and dopplers were burned at the stake by the Temple Guard and Witch Hunters, and the smell of burnt flesh could easily be detected in various cities.

During her photoshoot, cosplayers Ivan Kondrashin and Lyubov Barinova from the creative club "GrifonArt" transformed into characters such as Geralt the Witcher and sorceress Triss Merigold.

They traveled to Novigrad and then fought two fighters from the Temple Guard, who are responsible for maintaining law and order and the activities of a religious organization called the "Church of the Eternal Fire".

Followers of this organization worship the flame itself, which they consider a sacred substance that dispels darkness and protects humanity from evil. Over time, the official doctrine of the Church acquired a pronounced aggressive and xenophobic character.

Priests actively preach the superiority of humans over other races. They blame mages, witchers, elves, and dwarves for all societal woes, declaring them to be creatures of darkness.

This organization is headed by the Hierarch of Novigrad (in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, this is Cyril Engelkind Hemmelfart), whose residence is on Temple Isle. The Church possesses immense political and military power, relying on its controlled combat structures.
