Problems arose with the "Belarusian Smuta", so the authors are making a second game SHLYAKH - a horror road trip about Belarus
The production of Tales of Meadows turned out to be more difficult than initially expected.
A few years ago, Belarusian developers attracted the attention of gamers with the announcement of Tales of Meadows.
The events of the action-adventure game were supposed to unfold in Eastern Europe in the 13th century. Players would take on the role of Philip, a young man whose guardian is Peresvet. According to the plot, the main character returns to his hometown of Turov and wants to enter the service of the prince, but his native lands greet him not with glory, but with despair — the principality has lost its former greatness, the people live in fear, and pagans perform rituals in the forests.
Sometimes Qualestory Games studio published teasers, but the game was never released. In September, the developers announced that they decided to "start with small games" — they announced a project called SHLYAKH, which they will work on in parallel:
Since Tales of Meadows, obviously, turned out to be too complex, large, and only possible to release in good condition with an investor, we realized that, it turns out, we should have started with small games. It's better to understand this today than tomorrow. Therefore, in order not to please you with one concept a month and release something earlier than in 5 years, we simultaneously took on a second small project.
SHLYAKH is positioned as an "atmospheric road trip adventure" through old estates and churches throughout Belarus, and the game will have "small horror elements".
A page for SHLYAKH has already been opened on Steam, which can be found at the following link.
The release date for SHLYAKH has not yet been announced.
