Rockstar Changes GTA VI Rules: NPC Behavior Like Never Before

GTA VI will offer a more vibrant open world thanks to dynamic NPC behavior, differences in character physical characteristics, realistic vehicle physics, and a multitude of non-scripted reactions to player actions.

After closed showings by Rockstar Games, details about the artificial intelligence of characters have emerged. For example, the physical fitness of police officers will affect the effectiveness of pursuits: among them, there will be overweight officers who will tire faster and may stop during a foot chase, breathing heavily and leaning on their knees.

The behavior of residents will also become more diverse. Upon seeing a weapon, some will be frightened and run away, while others will try to disarm the hero. Defeated enemies may drop clothes and accessories – these can be picked up and used for quick camouflage.

Changes will affect robberies and random events. A vendor under threat may reveal a hidden safe, and on the streets, players can intervene in the crimes of other robbers and take their loot. Pedestrians' clothing will match their surroundings – from sportswear near gyms to everyday wear in poorer neighborhoods.
