The best "Resident Evil" adaptation according to viewers: Zach Cregger's reboot receives record ratings

Zach Cregger's new "Resident Evil" was not only liked by critics, who gave the film 96% positive reviews, but also by viewers. At the time of writing, the film's user rating on Rotten Tomatoes is 92% based on over a thousand verified ratings.

This is the best result among live-action films in the franchise. The previous record belonged to the first "Resident Evil" from 2002, which received 67% from viewers, while other adaptations in the series were rated significantly lower.

Viewers most often praise the combination of bloody horror with comedy, continuous action, Austin Abrams' acting, and the feeling of playing one of Capcom's games. At the same time, like critics, many note problems with the ending, which turned out to be weaker than the rest of the film.
