Alien: Isolation 2 will change the rules of the hunt - weather will become the Alien's new weapon

The developers of Alien: Isolation 2 will add open spaces and weather: rain will muffle both the player's footsteps and the Alien's approach, so hunting the hero will be different.

Alien: Isolation 2 will expand the original's formula with open spaces and harsh weather, forcing players to adapt to new Alien hunting conditions.

Unlike the first part, the action will unfold on the territory of a colony, including an outpost where other people can also become prey. Lead UI Artist Laura Muter believes that the contrast between enclosed spaces and open space will force players to act faster:

I think the contrast between claustrophobia and pressure, on the one hand, and vulnerability and openness, on the other, will make the player make decisions quickly.

Weather will be a separate factor. Rain can muffle footsteps and at the same time prevent you from hearing the Alien's approach.

The Alien is the perfect hunter. It will adapt to these situations, to these conditions. And you will have to adapt to our environment.

At the same time, the Alien will not cheat: if it does not see or hear the player, it will not be able to detect them.

But this is an intense and challenging game, and that's what the community loved about the first part.

Alien: Isolation 2 will be released on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The release date has not yet been announced.
