According to an internal message from Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty, Microsoft is eliminating 268 positions today at Halo Studios, other internal studios, as well as in Xbox's leadership and administrative divisions.
One of the employees reportedly affected by today's layoffs was Josh Daniels — Halo Studios' Cinematic Director. His name is officially credited in Halo: Campaign Evolved.

Daniels joined the former 343 Industries in 2024. Prior to that, he worked for many years at Turn 10 on Forza Motorsport cinematic materials. His move to the Halo team was reported after he himself announced his appointment as Cinematic Director on LinkedIn.
