Worse than the original? CDPR compared the graphics of The Witcher 3 remaster and disappointed some players

Now there are questions about the quality of the remaster.

CD Projekt RED is preparing for the imminent launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered. Recently, the developers published a short gameplay teaser.

They decided to compare the graphics using a combat scene where Geralt encountered a group of drowners. Judging by player reactions, not everyone was impressed by the new version – there's an opinion that the remaster looks worse than the original game.

In the presented teaser, Geralt uses the 'Igni' sign and then attacks enemies with fire. Although the main character's armor looks more detailed in the remaster, the water clearly falls short of the original game.

If you look closely at the original (shown at the bottom of the video), you can see that the fire effect from the 'Igni' sign is reflected in the water. The quality of this reflection is far from ideal, but the very fact of such an effect being present in the old version is impressive – for some reason, this effect is absent in the modern remaster.

The release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on PC and consoles is scheduled for September 29. Next year, the story expansion Songs of the Past is expected to be released.
